I remember two school trips there one in the 6th grade and another in high school. It was all about history, but we went to the real sites, not recently constructed show tombs and whatever else... The real sites must have gotten too dilapidated or dangerous or something - can't imagine what they would have done with them. Conservation of historical sites just wasn't a top priority. It is sad and I felt the same way when I was in Iran. So much history and beauty lost through neglect and violence. I also remember that there was a must-see sunrise viewing place in the mountain, although I remember nothing of the actual sunrise other than being extremely sleepy. It may have been when I went there as a 6th grader. Well, that's almost history :-)ykimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16409262473521197052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7746748686244495382.post-26556985641544511942009-10-15T04:33:02.331-07:002009-10-15T04:33:02.331-07:00Hi Amy, sounds like you had a great time and some ...Hi Amy, sounds like you had a great time and some fantastic expreiences, and it is great to see you with your friends and all the smiles on the faces.
